At Rest with Nature
Here I am, outside, sitting on the deck,
waiting for that special day,
a calm day, a day of peacefulness
as I watch the tree’s limbs
blowing back and forth from the wind,
winds that I cannot see, but only feel.
I am waiting for total quietness
of the neighborhood and beyond
as I enjoy the beauty around me,
the blue skies with white clouds sailing above,
the trees, green grasses,
and flowers blooming in gardens.
The only thing missing right now
are the birds, the squirrels, and the rabbits,
but that is okay, for I am at peace.
If they too wish to join in with me,
they are more than welcomed,
for the beauty of nature is to be shared with all.
