Ode to a Butterfly

Ode to a Butterfly

Ode to thee fairest monarch of spring
Your colors so vibrant such a beautiful thing
You float through the air bringing beauty to my world
Such a thrill to behold your glory unfurled

Though your reign may be short  on your wings may I fly
And paired with your escort can we soar to the sky
You flutter on a flower you make my eyes shine
Turning my garden and world into a shrine

May your beauty forever reign throughout the summer heat
Bringing joy and wonder and making life so sweet
Always bringing delight and a smile to my face
As you gently rise and float away in space

Reign on fair monarch of summer and spring
Odes and praises to thee forever will I sing
May your beauty flourish your luster never fade
Forever will I wonder just how you were made
