
Stove Rock
Above the steep stairway, there is a voice
liberated from the wings of the black bird.
The evening folds itself in the crest of the
Hatu temple, the priest harvesting orange sunsets
unaware of the clouds picking slivers of echoes.
You shake your hands and capture the rivulets
open your palms and find the intricate carvings
on your fingers. You catch fireflies and spread
them on the stove rock, the hidden cooking spot
of the Pandav brothers during their exile.
The longing of the unknown and something distant,
you let them fly inside your free verses,
who will trace the route from bringing the
Sanjeevani Booti and rewrite the epics
Dev Bhoomi draws unlit calligraphy on your face.
