Barbara Anna Gaiardoni is the winner of first prize in the 2023 Zheng Nian Cup. Her Japanese-style poems have been published in more than 100 international journals and translated into Japanese, Romanian, Arabic, Malayalam, Hindi, French, and several Spanish languages. GIEBISCH, ROBERT
Robert is a retired psychiatrist who divides his time between Connecticut and New York City. A graduate of Harvard College and the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, he started writing poetry during the pandemic. With a lifelong interest in Buddhism and world religions, his poems reflect on relationships with family, the search for a new spirituality, and attitudes toward aging and death. On OMPJ
