Strength of the Mind, Body, and Soul

Strength of the Mind, Body, and Soul

The gymnast takes a deep breath
and intensely stares down the vault runway,
she is adamant about scoring a 9.5 or above
to ensure her team wins the competition.

She has worked very hard to qualify
for nationals with the hope of competing
in the summer Olympics and bringing home
a gold medal for her country, the U.S.A.

Ankle sprains, knee surgeries,
and countless hours spent in physical therapy
later recovering from various injuries,
she knows she has given her all to be there.

Considered one of the most dangerous sports,
gymnastics remains highly respected for
the immense dedication, resilience, and strength.
Each gymnast possesses a great passion for this sport.

The strength of the mind, body, and soul
to adapt to any challenge that comes your way
and remain committed to training and being disciplined
to make your country proud is awe-inspiring.

Handsprings, splits, pike jumps, back tucks,
gymnasts are experienced at what they do
showing how the human spirit can many times
surpass physical pain as Kerry Strug did in the '96 Olympics.

This sport will continue to attract children everywhere
who are willing to step up to the challenge
of becoming a world-class gymnast someday,
putting in the hard work it takes to be a true champion.
