Miles and Years

Miles and Years

Miles away
It is almost unheard
That whisper of train
Metal wheels on metal tracks
To me behind
These brown stone
Moss covered walls
That house my gray life
That sound gives me
An escape
Of years
To my youth
I hear gulls and waves
And can at times
Remember my childhood laughter
Playing with hopes
And not caring
For anything but another beach day
