The Light of God
Before Your light,
my mind was a restless night
filled with shadows that whispered fear,
with doubts that gathered year after year.
Darkness built its silent throne,
convincing me I walked alone.
Its voice was loud, its promise hollow,
leading my weary soul to sorrow.
Then, without thunder,
without a blazing sky,
You arrived like the first ray of dawn
touching the edge of my soul.
Your light did not fight with anger;
it simply shone.
And where it rested,
darkness forgot how to remain.
The corners of my mind,
once hidden beneath clouds of despair,
opened like windows
welcoming the morning air.
Your light entered my heart
not as a stranger,
but as One who had always lived there,
waiting for the door to open.
Every wound became a garden.
Every tear became a river of grace.
Every broken dream
found a new beginning in Your embrace.
Then my heart blossomed
like a lotus rising from silent waters,
like spring awakening after winter,
like a tree clothed again in flowers.
Faith became my fragrance.
Hope became my song.
Love became the language
my soul had searched for all along.
Now I carry Your light within me,
a quiet flame that never fades.
It teaches my eyes to see beauty,
my hands to serve,
my lips to speak kindness,
and my spirit to forgive.
O Divine Light,
remain forever in my heart.
When storms surround me, be my peace.
When fear returns, be my courage.
When the world grows dim,
make me a lamp for others.
For I have learned this eternal truth:
Darkness has no power
where the Light of God dwells.
And the heart that welcomes His light
does not merely survive
it blossoms,
it sings,
it loves,
and it becomes
a reflection of Heaven itself.
