Mesmerized By Your Beauty

Mesmerized By Your Beauty

You caught my eyes when I suddenly passed by.
Then came for views, for skies that stretch and sing.
Yet found a cross that pierced the clouds with grace,
And upon knowing, the Mountain of Valor was waving.

Mt. Samat, as you are called by everyone.
You stood for everyone, not just a mountain king
But keeper of a nation’s silent face
and the pride of the people with so much love within.

You rise like prayer from Bataan’s embrace,
A mountain cloaked in silence and in grace.
Each stone remembers, each breeze softly weeps,
For valor buried deep where memory sleeps.

The sun spills gold upon your hallowed brow.
As if to bless the tears the earth once knew,
The forest hums with hymns of those who fell.
Their courage etched in every leaf and shell.

The shrine rose tall, a sentinel of light.
I saw the past not buried but in a fight.
Alive in every echo of your walls,
A promise made in blood and kept in youth.

Oh, Mt. Samat, your beauty does not boast,
It heals; it holds honor that matters the most.
A monument not just a stone and a sky
But of the love that shows us how to die.
