Voice-Box
Sharp as a voice-box-cutter, my jack-in-a-voice-
box shocks this Voice-Boxing-Day, bedroom
furniture sale staff, whose promo
pitch, all so tiresomely slow, recalls a voice-box-
tortoise transaction, voice-box-cars coupling in
the yard, and a voice-boxer doggie duet.
They bark for their supper, yet, only get a voice-
boxed lunch at our free noon concert in the park.
My fave master tenor lies at rest in a seven-foot
voice-box, eight octaves under, but at least his
last opera was a voice-box-office hit.
Mail in your ten voice-box-tops from jet-puffed
rice to redeem these arias, compiled in a nice
three disc, voice-boxed set, or else,
deluxe walky-talkies, your choice of emphatic,
lovely, crackling static, when you pour on milk.
They sound louder than their counter-ilk, less
voiced Vox-Populi: the Voice-Boxer’s rebellion,
Voice-Boxter, muffler shot, hoist-bound,
or crowd at a twelve-round voice-boxing match.
After which, verbal traffic voice-boxes me in
on the freeway: voice-box-canyon
that not even echoes can exit, but later, my new
voice-box-mattress, palpably, offers up a lullaby.
